- Safe Environment is the United States Catholic Church's response to the ongoing crisis of abuse and exploitation of young people by members of the clergy, religious, or lay volunteers.
- Safe Environment teaches awareness and advocacy for volunteers to be equipped to identify and intervene in the abuse of a minor at any place and time.
- The Catholic Church in the United States is committed to screening all volunteers, ensuring that all volunteers are equipped to help a young person in need, and addressing any maltreatment of a young person immediately and in cooperation with local law enforcement.
